A day to remember when London turns into Afghanistan. The smoke outside Parliament Square, the smashing windows, graffiti on statues in Traf Square, Charing Cross.
One thing they missed, Oxford Street trashing.
There was another riot that it dissolve and blamed at students.
While students protesting about tuition fees cap rise in Westminster, causing Tube station closure and transport disruption at West End, a bunch of protester against Philip Green - tax dodger, which been discussed by Evening Standard last week or so about owning the country upto £300mill. Therefore a bunch of protesters went outside Topshop, and "SMASH!" while few others along Oxford Street got smashed too. Arcadia Groups shop were all closed for the night (bhs, dorothy perkins, burton)
As a anti-high street bargain hunter, I think its good to see so, but working in retail, its bad to see window got smashed, all the damage... but due to Philip Green's power, the store's window and doors got replaced by next morning, 8am. Thanks to those protesters who buy clothes from Topshop.
