H&M Summer Lookbook 2013

Think ahead and pick your colours 6 months ahead. Get ready for the sun glazing over the skin. Hmmm!
If anyone realised, H&M have took a hiatus upon collaboration and took a big focus upon their own collection with special spotlight upon "Trend" collection for men and women.

While that denim jumpsuit is mine, and the rest are smartly designed with a hint of green. Very light and summery indeed!
Sheer fabrics, elastic waistband all scattered round.
While the ladies featuring a more darker palette for summer with a hint of baby blue and pink, but featuring chiffon printed dress!

The Prints of McQ SS13

Instead of talking about the collection, we decided to talk about the featuring prints of McQ this coming Spring Summer 2013.

Explosive diamonds in royal gold colours dominate the season for the ladies, with also sharp black tailoring with a dash of vibrant red. With a major focus on a thick waistband, and sees the return of the "zips". Return of the choker! Men's & exclusive event details after the jump!

Sadly, due to the team non-availability, WestFASHION sadly would not be covering London Fashion Week live (such as posting shows within 6 hours of happening and other gossips) but will be posting highlights within the next week or two.

I was just finishing up few bits and bobs for Issue 7, and going through all menswear shows, like literally flicking through it. THEN came across this.

So I'm guessing a new career as a Trend Forecaster for me? 

LCM DAY TWO: Baartmans & Siegel

Baartmans & Siegel was next after JW Anderson. 

Sportwear inspired silhouette featuring various safari prints.

MUST HAVE: Light Green Pantheon Suit! 

LCM DAY TWO - JW Anderson

Day two started with JW Anderson. 

Patchwork-cut out shoes stood out for the summer footwear categories. 

Along with the sleek, oiled black hair with headscarf tied round made the collection itself more softer and feminine contrasting with various cuts taken from the classic menswear silhouette. 

Lace Shirts and trousers was a stunner. The cartoon sweaters definitely will sell out in no time. 

but my favourite out of all is the pattern suits (again) at the end.

MUST HAVE: Pattern Suit!

LCM DAY ONE - James Long

Welcome to the flight of infinity.

James Long Spring Summer 2013 bought a whole new prospective toward the old, boring, and over-produced silhouette which been in town / trending for the last 2/3 years since the "Geordie Shore movement" (meaning the slouchy / cuffed / super tanned look - All Saints, Chinos + Tees)

The Matrix look is back. Double pleated rice-bag shorts with nylon fabrics. Along with patchwork / pattern shirts, ESPECIALLY the patchframe sweater at last (desperately wanted!) 

Similar themes to Hugo by Hugo Boss Spring Summer 2008, with the white checked suit. 

TRENDING: Sleeveless Shirts (patterns or cross-striped), Knee-length shorts. Dark-Charcol Grey palette. 

LCM DAY ONE: Christopher Shannon

Inspired by the English folk movement in the 1970s, Christopher Shannon's SS13 mainline collection sees its return of summery colours variations, with variation of fabrics such as blanket and nylons. 

Trio coloured patterns have been seen throughout the collection, companying various patchwork and embellished denims with a slouched silhouettes. 

Styling itself is outstanding, especially with the frills make up (so-called the 3-D Makeup) along with the complete whole outfit with frills top to toe (sadly no pictures for that.)

Must have: Purple White Navy Sweater!

LCM DAY ONE: Katie Eary

Day one started with Katie Eary near Old Burlington Street. The venue itself gives out the sense of glam with its white ceilings with gold framed mirrors across the site. 

The collection, of course, dominated by vibrant prints, with special mentions of the gold sardine fish patterns.  The style itself remains sport casual inspired with skateboarding in mind. Along with some variations of synthetic fabrics.

Must have: The gold sardine pattern trench coat.

Pre-LCM: Steve Madden

To kick off London Collections, Steve Madden staged a press launch in a former warehouse gallery down Flitcroft Street (London) to launch his successful footwear line in the USofA into Europe, starting with London first. 

Inspired by rock n roll stars in the 1970s, (hence the vinyl across the presentation). Since launching the collection in the 1990s, thick chunky heel became his signature styles and made history in women's shoes. 

The styles you see in this post will be available soon in your local Topshop and also now being stocked in John Lewis.

SS13 "Harry's Predictions" 2

The "magical" Harry is predicting trends one year ahead. Part one - "Metallica" predicted on the 14th Feb 2011. Part two (for the dudes) - "Worker Revival"

SO, HARRY'S PREDICTING:-

The Clash of Smart & Roughs

Dungarees (Denim, plain) but worn with white shirt + tailored jacket

Overalls with waistband

Cropped length with destroyed Leather boots. 

Anti-WorldWar1 hair (that everyone have at the moment) 

Hip-bone fitting

Minimal pockets + stitching 

Canvas / Cottons based instead of lycra or polyester

SS13 "Harry's Prediction"

Just had a thought. 

I know this is about a year away, but I just had a weird thought about this metallic trend will come back in SS13 or even sooner few days ago.

I've put this moodboard today (its my first digital moodboard so please bear with me)
